Question:

180 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Education the current position regarding the proposed extension to St. Fergal's College, Rathdowney, County Laois, particularly in respect of a home economics room and a science room; and if she will make a statement on when the project is likely to commence. [8954/97]

The detail design and contract documents for this project are currently being examined by my Department's technical staff. When this documentation has been approved, the next step is the invitation of tenders.

At this stage, I am not in a position to say when construction will commence.
