207 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education when the two pieces of legislation giving greater autonomy to the regional colleges and the Dublin Institute of Technology were introduced in Dáil Éireann; the Minister who initiated this legislation; and the Minister who concluded these two pieces of legislation. Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach)

The Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992 and the Dublin Institute of Technology Act, 1992 were initiated by the then Minister for Education, Deputy O'Rourke, on 14 June 1991 and were concluded in July 1992 by the then Minister for Education, Deputy Brennan.
