Vol. 477 No. 2

Written Answers - Milk Quotas.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

267 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a milk quota granted to a person (details supplied) in County Cork under EEC regulations has been leased by his co-operative and not made available to him; and if he will have immediate arrangements made to have the quota restored to this person. [8704/97]

The person named forfeited a special allocation which he had received from the national reserve on the basis that he had leased quota into the temporary leasing scheme. The retention of the reserve allocation precludes subsequent leasing. If the person in question resumes milk production, the matter can be reconsidered on the basis of a written application to the Milk Quota Appeals Tribunal.
