302 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the dates of all meetings of the interdepartmental committee established by the Government in July 1996, to examine the issue of the disposal of slaughter-house waste; the progress, if any, to date in this regard; when it is intended that the reports from this group will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The interdepartmental committee which was set up last August submitted an interim report to Government in October and an updated report in December. The committee met on 28 August, 10 September and 19 September, 20 November and 29 November. It is not the Government's intention to publish those reports which were intended to be of assistance in determining policy in this area.
