Vol. 477 No. 2

Written Answers - Coastal Erosion.

Ray Burke

Question:

338 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for the Marine if he will provide sufficient funds to allow work to commence as a matter of urgency to prevent further coastal erosion of the Burrow area of Portrane, County Dublin. [9082/97]

A Department of the Marine engineer visited and inspected the site on 4 April 1997 along with a council engineer and the consulting engineer employed by the council. Arising from this inspection and discussion on site, the Department is considering this matter further and is consulting with the National Parks and Wildlife Service in connection with the environmental conservation status of the area.
