Vol. 477 No. 3

Written Answers. - Fire Stations.

Brendan Smith

Question:

103 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the urgent need to provide a new fire station at Dowra, County Cavan; when the contract documents in respect of this project will be approved; when tenders will be sought; when construction will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9392/97]

While contract documents have been submitted by Cavan County Council for the provision of a new fire station in Dowra, I cannot say at this stage when the proposal may be allowed to go to tender stage, having regard to the funding available and the current level of demand under the fire services capital programme.
