Vol. 477 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

147 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when 1995 headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [9284/97]

The position is that the person named was convicted in court on 15 March 1995 of a breach of animal health regulations in that he moved an animal for slaughter without proper documentation. It is a condition for eligibility for headage grants that herdowners comply with the provisions of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966. As the person named failed to comply with the said provisions his grant under the 1995 cattle headage scheme is being withheld.
