Vol. 477 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

Liam Aylward

Question:

61 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí currently deployed in each county in accordance with their rank; and the percentage increase or decrease of this figure in the corresponding period twelve months ago. [9102/97]

The detailed deployment of Garda personnel to different areas is a matter for the Garda authorities. Since Garda administrative areas do not coincide with county boundaries, I propose to provide the Deputy with the information on a Garda divisional basis as set out in the following table. It should be noted that there was a reorganisation of Divisional boundaries in Cork Garda Divisions in April 1996.
