53 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health if he will request the relevant health board to review the case of a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who urgently needs an appointment with an ear, nose and throat consultant. [9453/97]

Limerick East): As the provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
