Vol. 477 No. 4

Written Answers. - School Placement.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

71 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Education the action, if any, her Department has taken to obtain a second-level school placing for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath on whose behalf Deputy O'Rourke tabled a parliamentary question several months ago; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9450/97]

Following the Deputy's question of 24 October last, certain information considered to be of relevance in having the boy placed in a school was requested from his family. Following receipt of this information inquiries were made with schools in his locality, two of which stated that they were willing to meet the pupil and his parent with a view to possible placement. The boy's parent has been advised of the situation and told to contact the principals of the schools concerned.
