118 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he will use his influence to have a respite care bed made available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork, who is recovering from serious illness. [9840/97]

, Limerick East): The provision of respite beds for the elderly in County Cork is the responsibility of the Southern Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board to investigate this matter and to respond directly to the Deputy.
