256 Mr. Lenihan asked the Minister for Justice the proposals, if any, there are to have Palmerstown, Dublin 20, designated as a single policing area, separate from the Ronanstown area; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9841/97]
The day to day operation of policing in Dublin is a matter for the Garda authorities.
I have no indication from the Garda Commissioner that he is proposing any changes in the Palmerstown area. I understand that the Garda Commissioner has been examining the policing infrastructure for the full Dublin Metropolitan Area and that a proposal will be sent to me in the very near future. I will then consider this proposal and will be in a position to comment further on the matter.
