Vol. 477 No. 5

Written Answers. - Operation Freeflow.

John O'Donoghue

Question:

58 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for the Environment whether he intends to extend Operation Freeflow to other parts of the country where traffic congestion is a problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5432/97]

When I launched Operation Freeflow Two in Dublin on 12 March, I said I would welcome, encourage and support in whatever way I can, the development of such initiatives in other places. The Dublin operation could serve as a model which other towns and cities could adapt to suit their specific needs; it is a matter for the relevant local authorities and other agencies concerned to take the necessary first steps towards this.
