Question:

68 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the value of Irish exports to the United Kingdom for each of the years from 1994 to 1996; the most common commodities exported; the noticeable change, if any, in commodity demand for that period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9395/97]

The latest month for which data are available is October 1996. The value of exports to the United Kingdom was £6.4 billion in 1994, £7.1 billion in 1995 and £6.1 billion for the period January-October 1996.

The figures for the main commodities exported in January-October 1996, and the corresponding figures for 1994, are given in the table.
