83 Mr. Davern asked the Minister for Education the applications, if any, she has received from the Patrician Presentation secondary school, Fethard, County Tipperary, for the provision of a special resource teacher on an ex-quota basis; if she will give favourable consideration to the request in view of the high percentage of pupils attending the school who require remedial teaching and who have special needs; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has received a number of applications from this school for the allocation of a remedial or resource post.

The position of the school will be considered when next it is possible to allocate additional ex-quota remedial or resource posts.

I should add that this school has been allocated additional part-time hours in the current school year to cater for special needs pupils attending the school.
