Vol. 477 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Seán Power

Question:

77 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Education if she will examine an application made by Scoil Mhuire, Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare, for new windows and doors; her views on whether it is unacceptable to have pupils and teachers operating in these conditions; and when the necessary moneys will be provided to carry out these works. [10081/97]

My Department has received an application for grant-aid towards the cost of new windows and doors at Scoil Mhuire, Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare.

My Department's architectural staff have been requested to visit the school and prepare a report on the matter. I am not in a position to comment on the conditions at the school pending receipt of this architectural report.

As soon as the architectural report is received the question of providing grant-aid for the proposed works will be considered in the light of the urgency of the works and available financial resources.
