Written Answers. - Security for the Elderly.
The task force on security for the elderly published its report last year which contained a series of recommendations as to how the security needs of the elderly could be most effectively addressed. The Government followed up by making additional resources available to the Minister for Social Welfare to put in place a scheme to support voluntary groups in the installation of security equipment and alarm monitoring devices in the homes of elderly people who are identified as at risk.
