164 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Education if she will have arrangements made for the payment of national lottery assistance towards the cost of improvements and extension to a community centre (details supplied) in County Cork. [10628/97]
The community centre concerned was allocated a grant of £5,000 in 1994 under the recreational facilities scheme. Payment was made in December 1995.
I can confirm that the sponsoring group has recently requested additional funding under the scheme in order to carry out further works. This application is one of over 1,000 applications on hand seeking funding under the sports capital programme. It will be considered when decisions are being made on the next round of grant allocations.
