Vol. 478 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Robert Molloy

Question:

175 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in granting approval for the replacement of windows and doors at Tooreeney national school, Moycullen, County Galway; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10683/97]

I am aware of the need for refurbishment works to Tooreeney national school, Moycullen, County Galway.

My Department's architect visited the school and is compiling a report on the condition of the accommodation. The architect's preliminary assessment suggests that the option of providing a new school needs to be examined. As soon as the architect's detailed recommendations are available, the planning and building unit of my Department will be in touch with the school authorities.
