197 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice if she will give details of the refurbishment work currently taking place in Mountjoy Garda station; the cost of this work; and the estimated date for completion. [10581/97]

Major refurbishment and extension works costing approximately £800,000 are currently under way at Mountjoy Garda station. The project will involve considerable alternations to the existing building including complete re-wiring and the knocking of partitions to create more office space. Also included in the refurbishment works will be a new fire escape, interview rooms, and new sanitary facilities. The building will be completely repainted and new floor covering will also be provided.It is anticipated that the project will be completed by July 1997.
