Question:257 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he will reopen the investigation into the Viscount plane crash in view of recent disclosures in connection with this matter. [10438/97]

The Deputy is aware of the through investigation carried out by my Department into this tragic accident, the report of which was published in 1970.
I am not aware of any new evidence relating to this accident which would warrant the reopening of this investigation. If the Deputy has evidence then he or persons known to him who have such evidence should make it immediately available to my Department.
