Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

36 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to issue payment of a tax refund to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is currently in receipt of unemployment assistance. [10382/97]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that a refund of tax was issued to the taxpayer on 9 April 1997.

37 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to issue a tax refund to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [10383/97]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the Inspector of Taxes has no record of having received a request for a tax refund in this case. The inspector has now written to the taxpayer requesting the information necessary to process a refund. On receipt of this, the taxpayer's liability will be reviewed and any refund arising will be repaid.
