91 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Health the grant aid paid by his Department towards the hospice care element of Cahercalla Community Hospital, Ennis, County Clare, in 1995 and 1996; the 1997 allocation; and the national average for hospice care beds. [10719/97]

Limerick East): The grant aid paid by the Mid-Western Health Board to Cahercalla Community Hospital in the years 1995, 1996 and the allocation for 1997 is as follows.

The provision of care to the terminally ill is not solely provided from hospice care beds and, accordingly, the provision of a national average for hospice care beds would not be indicative of the level of care provided in any particular area.
