Vol. 478 No. 2

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Helen Keogh

Question:

94 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for the Environment the number of families in each county who currently pay more than £35 for their water supply from public rural water schemes; the number of families in each county who pay more than £75 for their water supply from private rural water schemes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10922/97]

Thanks to the Government's decision to abolish local authority domestic water and sewerage charges, no household connected to a public water scheme — urban or rural — will have to pay for this service in 1997 or future years. The information requested in relation to private rural water schemes is not available in my Department.
