Vol. 478 No. 2

Written Answers. - Home-School Liaison.

Michael Ring

Question:

121 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education if she will approve a home school liaison officer as a member of staff for a school (details supplied) in County Mayo on an ex-quota basis. [10898/97]

It is my intention to continue with the phased expansion of the home-school community liaison scheme as resources permit. The school referred to by the Deputy will be given full consideration in the context of further expansion of the scheme.

Under the provisions of the White Paper on Education, all schools will be required to have a formal home-school links policy as part of their school plan.
