Question:132 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will make the interdepartmental group report on the food safety system in Ireland available in the Oireachtas Library. [11026/97]
Written Answers. - Food Safety Report.
The report of the interdepartmental group on food safety controls, similar to many other interdepartmental reports, was not intended for publication. However, the Government accepted its recommendations in relation to the assignment of functional and organisational responsibilities and, in particular, its recommendation that a new food safety authority be established on a statutory basis.
