67 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education the reason the extension to Ardfinnan national school, County Tipperary, was officially opened before all works were completed; when these works will be completed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10987/97]
Most of the works which have been identified as requiring completion at Ardfinnan national school were not included as part of the original contract which was completed in 1996. Following an inspection of the building on 15 April 1997, by an architect from my Department, I have considered all the items requested for grant-aid by the school. I have agreed to provide grant-aid towards provision of some additional minor improvement works. My Department will be in touch with the school authorities concerning the details.
