Written Answers. - Coastal Erosion.
When my Department was drawing up proposals for works to be included for consideration under the environmental services operational programme, all coastal local authorities were invited to submit details of their top four priority proposals. These proposals form the basis of the Department of the Marine's priorities for coastal protection works and are considered for inclusion in the programme on an annual basis having regard to funding levels, capacity and ability to meet the selection criteria laid down in the operational programme.
