Vol. 478 No. 4

Written Answers. - FCA Peacekeeping Duties.

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

10 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has to include members of the FCA on overseas peace-keeping duties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11277/97]

There are no plans at present to utilise members of the FCA on overseas peacekeeping duties.

Arising from the EAG review of the Defence Forces, a separate study on the Reserve Defence Forces will be carried out. The issue of members of the FCA being utilised on overseas peacekeeping duties could be considered in that context.
