Question:61 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Health the amount which was allocated to Sligo General Hospital for the waiting list initiative in 1995 and 1996; and if he will make a statement on the matter.[11270/97]
Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.
Limerick East): Under the waiting list initiative I allocated £720,000 in 1995 and £742,000 in 1996 to the North-Western Health Board to reduce waiting times in a number of target specialities where waiting times were considered excessive. The decision regarding the distribution of these funds to the hospitals in the health board's area was a matter for the North-Western Health Board. I have therefore requested the chief executive officer of the board to reply to the Deputy directly in this matter.
