Vol. 478 No. 5

Written Answers. - Prescribed Drugs.

John O'Donoghue

Question:

124 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Justice the number of offenders in prisons and places of detention who take prescribed drugs; the number receiving each category of prescribed drugs; and the proportion of prisoners in each prison and place of detention using such prescribed drugs. [11661/97]

Individual prisoners' medical files are confidential in the context of the doctor-patient relationship and it is not possible, therefore, to give the number of offenders for whom drugs are prescribed.
