76 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for the Environment the arrangements, if any, which have been made to ensure Braille templates are available at each polling station; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11612/97]
Under the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 1996, the Minister for the Environment may provide, by regulations, for such arrangements as may serve to facilitate voters with visual impairments to mark their ballot papers without assistance. The feasibility of providing arrangements under this provision, including braille templates, is under consideration by my Department.
