Vol. 478 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

155 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Justice when dealing numbers (details supplied) on a folio number will be completed in view of the fact that the non-completion of these dealings is preventing the sale of the property in question. [11931/97]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that these dealings refer to an application under section 49 i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 and an application for first registration. The applications were lodged on 1 November 1990 and 3 July 1991, respectively. I understand that there has been ongoing correspondence between the applicants' solicitor and the Land Registry, and that a reply to queries which were issued on 7 March 1996 and to which a reminder was sent on in July 1996, are awaited from the solicitor. In addition, replies are also awaited to a further query in relation to a conflict of boundaries, which was issued on 11 December 1996. These applications cannot proceed until the queries raised have been satisfactorily discharged. It is not possible, therefore, to estimate a completion time at this stage.
