Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Hospitals Development.

Noel Ahern

Question:

98 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health the development plans, if any, submitted to his Department over the past few years for Cappagh Hospital, Finglas, Dublin 11; the proposals, if any, which are approved in 1997; the proposals, if any, make a statement on the matter. [12282/97]

Limerick East): My Department has received a submission from Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital outlining a series of proposals for a programme of upgrading and refurbishment of the hospital. This submission is under consideration and, while I am acutely aware of the development needs in this hospital, any decision on this matter will have to be taken within the context of my Department's capital programme and the competing demands on the funding available.
