Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Departmental Properties.

Seán Haughey

Question:

111 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if the Office of Public Works own the enclosed field at the entrance to St. Vincent's GAA Club, Dublin 9, opposite the Casino and Cherrymount Local Authority Housing Development off the Malahide Road; if so, the plans, if any, he has for this site; whether he will allow Dublin Corporation to develop the site as an amenity area if the corporation is so willing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12240/97]

I understand that the enclosed area in question is in the ownership of Dublin Corporation.

As indicated in my reply to the Deputy's Question No. 97 on 4 March last, it is intended, in co-operation with Dublin Corporation, to maintain as parkland all of the lands in public ownership at the Casino in order to present the monument in the best possible setting.
