113 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, he has to clean up the Royal Canal and general surrounds from Binns Bridge westwards through Drumcondra and Phibsboro; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12286/97]

I am satisfied that the stretch of the Royal Canal from Binns Bridge westwards through Drumcondra and Phibsboro is being adequately maintained by the waterways service of my Department.
