Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Mary Wallace

Question:

134 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the timescale in relation to the connection of a town sewerage scheme (details supplied) in County Meath to Fingal County Council; the level of disruption there will be on the main street of the town; when work on the main street will be concluded in order that the street can be properly surfaced; and the plans, if any, he has regarding the surfacing of this street following the installation of the new sewer pipe. [12277/97]

A report on tenders for this scheme has recently been submitted to my Department by Meath County Council and is being considered at present. Once a tender has been approved, it will be a matter for the council to make the necessary contract arrangements to enable work on the scheme to commence and to agree a work programme and any other necessary arrangements with the contractor. The contract documents provide, in accordance with normal practice, for the temporary and permanent reinstatement of the trench width.
