Albert Reynolds

Question:

137 Mr. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education if she will respond to the demands of the teachers and parents of Granard, County Longford, to approve sufficient funds to complete the gymnasium and sports hall at Granard vocational school, which have lain unfinished for the past two years. [11937/97]

I can confirm that my Department has received an application for funding under the sports capital programme from County Longford Vocational Education Committee towards the completion of the sports hall at Granard vocational school. The application is one of over 1,200 applications on hand seeking assistance under the programme. My Department will consider the application when decisions are being made on grant allocations this year.
