Written Answers - STD Clinics.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

17 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health the number of people awaiting appointments in sexually transmitted diseases clinics at various locations around the country; and if he will ensure that the health boards provide additional clinics. [11995/97]

Limerick East): STD clinics are operated on a walk-in basis and on an appointment basis. In relation to appointment clinics in two health board areas, urgent cases are seen quickly, the waiting period for less urgent cases can be up to three weeks. Efforts are being made by these boards to develop extra clinics to meet the demand.
