Vol. 478 No. 7

Written Answers - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Seán Doherty

Question:

84 Mr. Doherty asked the Minister for Health the delays, if any, there are in hip replacement surgery at Merlin Park Hospital, Galway; the length of time persons seeking such surgery have to wait; when a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon will be called for his hip replacement surgery; and the reason for the delay in this case. [12194/97]

Limerick East): The person in question was placed on the orthopaedic waiting list for hip replacement on 3 February 1997. I understand from the Western Health Board that the waiting time for a hip replacement can be from 12 to 24 months.
