Vol. 479 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

11 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has satisfied himself that he is able to meet the commitments given to date in 1997 from his existing allocation. [12400/97]

Vote 4, office of the Tánaiste, covers the administration costs of the office and a grant-in-aid to the National Economic and Social Forum (NESF). Vote 38 — Foreign Affairs covers the administration costs of the Department and programme elements including assistance to Irish citizens abroad. Cultural relations and activities relating to North-South and Anglo-Irish co-operation. Vote 39 — International Co-operation covers Ireland's mandatory contributions to international organisations and its official development assistance programme. I am satisfied that the funding under the three Votes is adequate for 1997 commitments.
