Vol. 479 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

44 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself that he is able to meet the commitments given to date in 1997 from his existing allocation. [12397/97]

While my Department has procedures in place to monitor its expenditure, it is difficult at this relatively early point in the financial year to forecast accurately the exact outturn on the Environment Vote. I am satisfied, however, that any variation between Estimates and outturn will be relatively small in the context of the Estimate provision of some £968 million.
