As I indicated in my reply to Dáil Question No. 300 which I answered on Tuesday, 25 March 1997, a review of the need for the provision of a second-level school in Kingscourt, County Cavan, has been completed by the planning section of my Department.

A report in the matter will be available to me shortly. When I have considered fully the findings of the review, I will make a decision on the matter.

55 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education the position regarding a proposed extension to a school (details supplied) in County Cork which has been approved under the breaking the cycle scheme but where no adequate classroom facilities are available to take up the offer. [12358/97]

My Department is currently considering a request for an extension at the school to which the Deputy refers. The school will be advised of the outcome as quickly as possible.

I understand that the offer approved under the Breaking the Cycle scheme has been taken up by the school and the individual has taken up appointment.
