Question:

342 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his ten month and 22 month beef premia for 1996 and the final payment of his suckler cow premium. [12747/97]

The person named was paid his 1996 suckler cow premium advance of £2,243.68 on 25 November 1996, and special beef premium advances of £577.08 and £504.95 on 25 November 1996 and £144.27 and £72.13 on 2 December 1996.

The balancing payment requires checks and controls associated with the land parcel identification system (LPIS). The LPIS involves digitising all land parcels submitted by farmers in order to provide a database whereby land parcels being claimed for area aid purposes can be located, identified, and have area values and land use attributed.
My Department has written to the person named in an effort to have the outstanding problems sorted out with a view to having payment made at the earliest opportunity.

Question:

343 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his 1996 ten month and 22 month beef premia. [12748/97]

The person concerned submitted an application for nine animals under the ten month special beef premium scheme on 2 December, 1996 and an application for nine animals under the 22 month scheme on the same date.

Payment has issued, in full, in respect of the person's ten month application. However, two of the animals applied on under the 22 month scheme are age inconsistent with his ten month application of November 1995. Clarification was sought based on test reports. The situation now appears in order and payment will issue shortly.

Question:

345 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive payment of his ten month beef premium which he applied for in November 1995. [12751/97]

The person concerned submitted an application for ten animals under the 1995 special beef premium scheme on 17 November 1995.

Payment of £333.94 in respect of 3.8 animals was issued on 15 June 1996. He did not submit an area aid application for 1995. Under EU regulations he would be entitled to payment on up to 15 livestock units having first taken his milk quota into account. He had a milk quota of 10,738 gallons representing 12.72 livestock units and was therefore entitled to payment on 2.28 livestock units, equivalent to 3.8 ten month animals.

Question:

346 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the second payment will be made to a REP scheme applicant (details supplied) in County Offaly. [12752/97]

The applicant's agri-environmental plan has been found to be deficient and the applicant and his planner have been notified by my Department accordingly. If a revised plan is submitted and found to meet the requirements of the rural environment protection scheme, payment will then issue.
