Vol. 479 No. 2

Written Answers. - Sheep Subsidy.

Liam Aylward

Question:

349 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in having a decision made on the appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny against his Department's refusal of this person's 1996 and 1997 sheep subsidy; and when a decision will be given on this appeal. [12775/97]

An appeal was lodged by the herdowner with the headage and premia appeals unit in October 1996. This appeal is currently under consideration and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome as soon as the matter is concluded.

Appeals are dealt with in the order in which they are received and there will be no undue delay in processing the appeal in respect of this herdowner.
