62 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Finance the date on which a VAT refund will be granted to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; the amount of money to be refunded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12428/97]
I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the refund claimed was based on the Value Added Tax, Refund of Tax, No. 25, Order 1993 which provides for refunds of VAT to farmers under certain circumstances. The claimant has not supplied any evidence of carrying on a farming activity and consequently the provisions of this Order do not apply.
