41 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment the long-term strategy, if any, planned by the National Safety Council and the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment on road safety, since the two bodies initiated co-operation in October 1996. [12894/97]
There is close liaison between the National Safety Council and the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland. I welcome and support that liaison which was exemplified by the joint seat belt wearing advertising campaign ran during last winter and which I hope will result in further joint campaigns in the future.
