Vol. 479 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

61 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made to have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath admitted immediately to the Mater Hospital, Dublin 7, for a by-pass operation in view of the fact that he is on the emergency waiting list and it is extremely urgent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13058/97]

Limerick East): I have made inquiries of the Mater Hospital regarding this person. They have advised me that the patient in question is not on their waiting list for cardiac surgery. The patient's condition was considered by the Mater Hospital in May 1994 and it was decided to refer him to the care of a consultant physician in Mullingar General Hospital for ongoing medical treatment. The patient could consult further with his doctor if he has further questions regarding his condition.
