Vol. 480 No. 3

Written Answers - District Veterinary Offices.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

49 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if the proposed move to Tallaght, Dublin 24, of the Dublin-East Wicklow District Veterinary Office is proceeding as planned; if the staff already notified are being transferred to Tallaght as agreed; when the transfer will take place; the number of persons required to staff this district veterinary office; whether the proposed location of this office featured in any discussions that led to the election of a new Taoiseach and the formation of the Government; if so, the outcome of these discussions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14168/97]

The establishment of a veterinary officer for the east Wicklow area is under active consideration. The potential implications for Tallaght of the proposed Wicklow office will also be examined.
