Vol. 480 No. 3

Written Answers - Disadvantaged Schools.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

76 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education if he will give urgent consideration to the inclusion of the Ballymun comprehensive schools in the disadvantaged scheme in view of the fact that they meet all the criteria and all other schools in the area are so designated; and if he will make a statement regarding permanent staff appointments to these schools. [14180/97]

The case of the school referred to by the Deputy will be considered when next it is possible to allocate additional posts under the disadvantaged scheme. As the school is in a supernumerary staffing situation, it is not possible to sanction any permanent appointments for the 1997-98 school year.
